I really really like the rebranding. I feel like it’s more than a coincidence.

FDR illegally shut down Fr Coughlin, who wasn’t anywhere near as toxic as Jones is.

The RC Church, at the time, still officially regarded Jews as “Christ-killers”, so it’s probably not surprising that Coughlin didn’t think much of Jews. He also didn’t like FDR very much since he regarded FDR as having betrayed the working class by going back on his promises to “soak the rich”. So FDR illegally had him denied various rights, such as favorable postage rates for his newsletter, and eventually found a bishop who shut Coughlin down completely, eliminating a big political threat to FDR.

    But Coughlin wasn’t a liar.

Jones is a liar, and a toxic one in the mold of Hitler, Göbbels, et al.

Yet nobody shuts him down. I wonder why.

There are so many Public Liars these days, you couldn’t shut them all down no matter the effort you expend. Trouble is they hold legitimate offices. But as you-know-who pointed out in his book, tell a lie often enough and people will believe it’s the truth. Jones’s lies are soooo over the top, you have to wonder whether that thought can apply. Can people be that gullible? Maybe that’s a silly question to ask in the age of Trump.
