Pineapple on a pizza….it’s an abomination. I get the idea of the flavor behind it and whatever, but the different textures, the contrasting sweetness…it’s just not right. I’m with Ralph on this. I love pineapple and I love pizza. But some ideas were not meant to be fused…
Since it’s only on her half, what is the problem. I only like green peppers & onions- and that took a bit as growing up I only wanted cheese- my husband gets all kinda of stuff including anchovies-UGH. I’m sure when my order comes in they know it’s me before the even check the name.
I like pretty much anything on a pizza, favorites being Canadian bacon and tomato or sausage, mushrooms, and olives. Nothing’s wrong with the pineapple topping, it just isn’t in my Top 3. That being said, I don’t care for sliced bell pepper on one of those “everything” pizzas (although I like bell peppers otherwise), or pepperoni, which I can’t really eat anymore, much to my sorrow!
I’ve lived in Italy and Hawaii… neither would recognize the others choice as real pizza. Napoli, Italia is the birthplace of pizza and what they serve is tasty, but not really my preference. But then I’m not fond of the Hawaiian staples of SPAM and pineapple on my pizza either. Yes it is tasty, but not my preference.
And that would be the point, this all boils down to personal preference. You eat what you like and I’ll go my own way. You don’t need to be rude and mean about my choices and I won’t be about yours. OK, I may look down my nose a bit, but I’ll try not to be rude about it. 8^)
June, quit while you are ahead. As long as Ralph doesn’t like pineapple you know he won’t try and eat your share of the pizza when you split a pizza half and half with different toppings.
My dinner tonight (and often in the summer). Backyard tomatoes sliced on Naan bread topped with shredded cheese and pepperoni. Put in the toaster oven on top brown until the cheese is melted.
I love ham and pineapple pizza. It is the only kind I get if I am buying for myself. Why are people so bigoted toward Canada? It was first made this way in Toronto… People in Buffalo would cross the border just to buy it.

I’ll take a walk on the Hawaiian side every time if I’m going to stoop to eating pizza.

Likewise, I draw the line at fresh sliced tomato on my pizza.

I’ve had pizza with pineapple. I thought it was good. Much better than those nasty anchovies.

My family visited Italy in 1962, camping in our VW bug. Not one eatery we visited knew what “pizza” was. It’s a totally made-in-USA thing.
But I agree that pineapple does not belong on a pizza. Could be worse… our local place offers cauliflower crust…

If you want to walk on the wild side; Italians like pizza with peas. But they also eat pizza with knife and fork.

I have to agree with Ralph on this one.

Hawaiian pizza is one of those foods where there doesn’t seem to be a middle ground, lol.
It’s a battleground food…..there’s usually no convincing the other side.

FTR, we don’t say Canadian Bacon in Canada. We call it Back Bacon, because it’s made from the backs of pigs.
Not Canadians!

Hawaiian is probably my favorite kind of pizza. After reading today’s strip, guess that means more for me!
