With the accuracy of a LASER, Megan launched herself at the still falling trail of trash and literally plucked Hector out of the flow. Carrying him in her mouth like a kitten, she bounded over the rubbish and ran towards the corner of the depository- keeping her eyes on the bulldozer that was used to scrape up and compact the “new” refuse. As the driver was not scheduled to drop off, the ‘dozer was unoccupied for the moment; Megan could relax now. “So… come here often?” Hector was hurt, but not badly; he tried to keep his sense of humor. Megan replied in kind; “You smell like old cheese…” Meanwhile, Tre-C pounced on the rat with the vigor of someone who relished a fight; “not on my watch, you don’t…” Tre-C bit the rat in the middle of its back while pinning it down with her front paws. The rat squealed and tried to bite back, but Tre-C had it well contained. She could have easily dispatched the rat, but not this time. Tre-C looked up quickly and saw Megan had Hector, so she released her grip on the rat and jumped back a few feet. The rat dove into the trash and scurried off in the opposite direction…
Love Elvis’s poof still showing from off-panel and Lupin trying to push it out of the way. And Tommy’s bashfulness! But hey, look on the bright side: being a peeping tomcat ultimately got you some awesome friends. :D
Burt’s definitely an Autumn kitty. ♥ Good morning and Happy Purrsday ((((((((((((((((((((((Shaunnmunn & Mega Orbsters)))))))))))))))))))))! I wish you all a marvelous Autumn morning (I know the equinox hasn’t come yet, but it feels like an Autumn morn outside!)
Good morning and happy Purrsday, orbsters and orbabies. Well, today is the day that I get what is left of my teeth removed and new dentures put in. Since I’m supposed to be knocked out, I should be nicely woozy later.
That’s some impressive poofage Lupin is pushing out of the way in Panel 1. I think Elvis is outdoing himself.
Elvis’ reaction reminds me of my Louie. He had inside cat companions, but whenever he saw a cat outside he hissed and spit and attacked whoever was nearby. After two trips to the hospital to get stitched up, I bought a cage and stocked it with an anoles and crickets. Lois never looked outside again.
In Tommy’s defense, he was lost and homeless back when he was peeking in the window. He was just lonely. He did tell Elvis that he liked looking in because it made him feel like he was still part of things like back before he was lost. Geeze, I have so many feels stirred up right now just thinking back to the Christmas special!
Yes, all you pampered housecats, farm cats have a HEAVY work load: chasing mice, dealing with owls, getting the snakes out, patrolling the wall, making sure the farm dog is doing his job (the farm dog does NOT know that this is part of the farm cat’s duties!) and on and on. sigh…a farm cat’s work is never done.
I’m a rational person who doesn’t believe hugs from random strangers on the internet are at all useful, but I’ve signed in here today to thank all the BCN Orb for being such a supportive community.
My domestic partner’s pancreatic tumor recently turned out to be inoperable, so I especially want to thank all of you who have been talking here about cancer experiences. He’s recovered from the attempt, and is doing well and will live as long as he continues to tolerate chemos that continue to work.
It seems a bit wrong to talk about terrible things in this wonderful place, but this site has been a great caretaker support group for me and I want to thank all the good people who make it so.
Bandit has decided he need’s to be a needy kitty and I don’t know what he wants. He’s been fed, so I doubt that’s it. Tried cuddling him but he’s climbed out of my arms. Tried getting out a toy and playing with him, that lasted about a minute or two before he got bored. I’m sure he’d take some treats, but he knows it’s not treat time. Tried letting him out on the porch and he just turned his nose up at the idea. Think he just wants attention but can’t figure what attention he wants.

Look at Tommy’s self-conscious expression in panel two. That is artistic skill right there. Also, Elvis’ cameo in panel one, LOL.

Burt cleans everything up before heading off for his day. I bet he would never use plastic bags.

I sense a live on-the-scene report coming from Tommy.

I love how Burt makes a backpack of his blanket and thermos bottle and then takes off along the wall on all fours!

Love the way Lupin is pushing away a huge mound of puffed-up fur.

Burt’s colouring matches the Autumnal colouring of the scenery.

Were I a two cat kind of gal, I would mention that Burt is quite a handsome cat. What I will say is that I am glad I got a daily does of Elvis.

Elvis still in full poof. He would make a great parade balloon float.
