    In my neighborhood, they closed two roads so they could build an interstate highway. Now all the traffic for those two roads goes through a residential neighborhood. The option is a three mile detour to get from one side of the neighborhood to the other. It would not be so bad if the drivers stuck to the 25 mph speed limit but most are doing 40 mph. Progress.

    I still think that Big Front End Alignment is paying off politicians to not fix potholes.

    Obviously there is low overhead and great profit in orange cones, barrels, electric warning signs, and barriers. Using them allows the municipal government to advertise its commitment to excellence while not actually meeting a schedule for completion.
