I truly hope that climate change is completely human-made. If it’s not, and it’s all actually the result of the sun and other stellar forces, we’re utterly screwed.
No necessarily the commenters here, but isn’t it amazing that people complain about pollution from cars and power plants but they would be the last ones to give up their AC in their homes and cars. I know it’s hot where you live, but believe it or not, humans survived before there was AC.
before A/C we slept between wet sheets with a fan blowing over blocks of ice and my dad had 4X60 air conditioning in his car – all four windows down and drive 60mph.it was very effective from October to April where we lived. But didn’t work as well May through September.
It all depends on where you live and your personal tolerances… I’ve lived three places where I didn’t have (and didn’t really miss) summer air conditioning: Tacoma, O’ahu & Colorado Springs. But these days I’m living on the western slope of Colorado and a swamp cooler really helps with the summer heat. Plus, it allows me to keep the computers running during the day. With out it, I would be forced to shut down most of my toys to prevent heat damage. We don’t get as hot as, say, Phoenix, but we do regularly hit the low 100’s here. I set the swamper to 77° F and call it good.

Humidity control is more important to comfort than dry bulb temperature.

I prefer 80, but I don’t even have A/C in my house.

70 is more my preference, but I live where a/c is not needed to maintain it.

If climate change (formerly referred to as global warming) was of grave concern then perhaps we would!

Isn’t that first panel the beginning of a Monty Python skit?
