I can only assume that the joke is that most humans think spiders are creepy but spiders think date palms are creepy ? ? ?

Palms don’t lower themselves down to you from the ceiling directly overhead on a silk strand.

This one surely is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. I wonder if there is play on word “creepy”, but palms are not creepers.

Okay, everyone. Spiders have eight legs . A palm has many fronds. Imagine just the top crawling toward you.

We have a papyrus plant and from time to time I have to snip off the dead tops. I used to toss them in the fireplace, but they do not make good kindling. So – I dropped one into the trash can. A while later I heard a gasp and a thud from the kitchen. Hubby had lifted the lid to toss something and momentarily mistook the papyrus “flower” for one humongous spider.

That palm looks nothing like a sylvester palm, which is creepy. Nevertheless, the palm has fronds shaped vaguely like the spiders’ legs, only more of them, which is creepier. The joke is lame, but there is a point to it
