I can’t really see the point of “listening” to books. I like the feel of paper; the ability to move back and forth if needed; to be able to reread a couple of pages back in the book to refresh something. The smell…

Story telling is an art whether or not it’s on paper.

You don’t have to plug in a book.

“Don’t lose your place when you fall asleep.” Well that’s not true! Ever try reading The Scarlet Letter on a school bus? I nodded off and dropped that thing every time.

They take up lots of living space, but I do like them.

You do if the book flips closed. But you can pretty much get back to where you were if you have a Nook!

Betty, Bub and Junior are the most real characters in all the comics I have ever read. Kudos to the creators/authors/artists! I really like the characters. The story wanders sometimes, but so does my life. Keep it going.

Yes you do—it falls out of your hand and onto the floor, and rarely if ever does it land with the book open to the exact page you were reading.

    Other advantages to real books:

    1) If my mind wanders or I want to think a bit about what I’ve read, my “pause” occurs automatically and without any deliberate action, such as pressing a “pause” button.

    2) The “voices” are supplied by my own imagination, not by someone else’s imagination and selection. I remember my disappointment when I first saw an animated cartoon version of Peanuts; the voices just didn’t seem to fit the characters as I had imagined them when reading the printed comic strips.
