Some things you can. Aluminum, steel, and glass are all infinitely recyclable. Paper, the fibers become shorter each time until finally it won’t make “proper” paper. Evil plastic ;-), can only be recycled a half dozen times or so after which it’s headed to the landfill, or, apparently, the ocean where it never goes away or biodegrades. Food for thought. Every piece of plastic that has ever passed through your hands is still in existence. That includes all the shopping bags which are used for an average of 10 minutes, all the food wrap, all the bubble wrap and air baggies used in shipping – everything.
Something to think about – to recycle paper – bleaching is done to get it clean – so how much chemcial pollutants are used to recycle a ton of paper???
Steel is, at this time, mostly recycled. No need to take iron ore from the earth, just recycle stuff that we junk. Glass is also recyclable. Aluminum is far cheaper to recycle than it is to refine in the first place

“Eventually, all paper products become toilet paper, and no one wants to recycle that.”
(Yes, yes… I know that not all paper products actually eventually become toilet paper, but I can picture that being the answer in the comic)

Sure! We do it with water. Think about that, every drop of water we drink has been through some living thing probably innumerable times!

Would that it worked that way.

All that recycling takes energy. All the energy creates its own pollution (even solar and wind).

Today Recycle. Tomorrow, who knows!
