I don’t know, Heart. Why do you?

Hey, a steamy time in the back seat of a car is part of the trip!

Middle school. And what also comes with middle school? Something that starts with “P”… or for Heart, maybe two things that start with “P”…

It seems Heart is one of those late bloomers. I looked it up and middle school is usually for ages 11 to 14. It’s not unusual for girls her age to have, or at least be, “developing”. That said, I like Heart’s skirt. She’s wearing her favourite flats. Go knock them out, kiddo!

I figured Heart would be wearing her protest “It’s still Summer” Shorts & Flip-Flops for the 1st day of school!

How are they starting middle school; weren’t they just in third grade?

I can’t keep track of grades anymore. All I know was mine was ages 12-14, then on to high school. And Australia really confuses me! They have pre-school and kindy, primary is for ages 6-12, then high school from 13 to 17. The confusing part is the school terms! Eeee!

Be afraid mom, very afraid.

If she is in middle school, puberty is just around the corner.

Just remember, Heart, Rose survived the Titanic and you, too, shall survive middle school.

I’ve been out of school for 50 years, yet I still think summer begins when school lets out and is over when school starts.

Middle school? I thought Heart was in second grade! Middle school is never less than fifth grade in the US, is it?

I can’t believe it. She’s finally moved on to a new grade after 20+ years being in the same one, I think. And she’s got the skirt that I think she wears in the reboot. Ok. Let’s go.

Going to bed sick as a third grader and waking up a sixth grader sounds incredibly horrifying and surreal
