It has been a while since I last went to Olive Garden. What’s on the menu that isn’t pasta (aside from the salad)?

Olive Garden and Red Lobster are 2 of the most overrated restaurants in the country. Whereas they both used to be excellent choices for dining, customers are now staying away in droves. If they can’t decide where to eat they should go to Golden Corral…lots of variety to choose from and a discounted price for seniors

Let’s slide on down to the Ye Olde Choke & Puke. How ‘bout Tom’s Ptomaine instead? Oh, I know! Let’s go to Sam & Ella’s or maybe The Rice Inn.

Olive Garden above Applebee’s every time, just choose wisely. If nothing else though some of Applebee’s unhealthy appetizers are good. Anything rather than having to stay home and cook…cheerios?

There are only 2 restaurants in town? My tiny 8k town has at least half a dozen nice sit-down restaurants NOT of the McDonald’s ilk.

I could eat breakfast three times a day but none of them would include cold cereal – of any brand!

When I lived in the States, my local Applebee’s in Florida was one of my favorite sports bars, along with Beef O’Brady’s. Most of the meals eaten at either place were at the bar rather than in a booth.

I once had a girlfriend who worked as a manager at an Olive Garden. That put me off dining there. Red Lobster was ridiculously overpriced ( as was Outback ) for what you ordered.

I usually avoided the chain restaurants for dining out. Some of the small, local restaurants had better food and service and you got more bang for your buck.

Applebees would be good, other than the fact that you can’t get a decent piece of bread. I love the rest of the menu, or at least I did a couple of years ago, last time I was there. I call occasionally to ask if they have bread yet, so far no such luck.

Yes it is. 3 degrees out, 9" of snow on the ground and still snowing. Fridge shelves look like Mother Hubbard’s cupboard, cereal looks pretty good, even if there is no milk. Okay, it may be bland, but you won’t starve.
