Fearless, stingy, but when it comes to public speaking…

Usually, when a person has only one fear it’s a really big one!

Prediction: Something will happen that overcomes the fear.

I used to have this fear as well – but I gained confidence when I realized that the audience knows less about my topic than I did, and that’s why they came to listen. I didn’t use any of the “imagine them naked” techniques, but used the method of talking to the audience as though I was talking to one person, and it was easier…

I can speak in public. I don’t like it, but I can do it. It did help that before the company I worked for shut down, I was an union (USWA) officer and had to speak before the membership.

Face your demons young man!

Fear of public speaking is more common than fear of death, statistically speaking, if a guy was on a high balcony in front of a crowd of people, he’d be more willing to jump off it than deliver a speech to them.

I think I’d rather give a hundred public speeches with no pants on than ride shotgun with Joe’s mom driving.

He’s got the butterflies fighting with the wasps. He’ll be just fine. 8^)
