I can’t watch all those political talk shows. I need to laugh. My favorite shows are South Park, Family Guy and Simpsons. And Ancient Aliens who I WISH would make themselves known ASAP.

What might it be like if this idea were to catch on?

I’m about to adopt that strategy myself.

Read something happier and more pleasant than the news, like Dante’s Inferno.

The more you ignore, the more you crawl into your “happy place”, the more you act like a spoiled child, the worse the world will get. How about you grow up, find out what your own representatives are doing, decide who you can vote for to make a better world for your kids to grow up in, and then get out and work for them, or at least VOTE!!!!!

Dumb works for me.

I will remain smart and retain my IQ of 160. I have since I was 8. (my IQ is actually 160. no joke.)

The philosopher Epictetus taught that you should avoid troubling yourself about matters not within your control, and exert yourself toward things that are. (The book of Ecclesiastes has the same advice, BTW.) Maybe that’s only “dumb” with a college education, but it’s still excellent advice.

I still would rather have a frontal lobotomy rather than a bottle in front of me.

For many, it isn’t a choice.

The problem is that if you stay ignorantly uninvolved, you cede control to the ignorantly involved.

The bomb doesn’t discriminate between the educated and the ignorant.

If ignorance is truly bliss you would think people would be happier than they seem to be.
