I can see how this one event can lead to an entire week’s worth of material. A person sits on knitting needles and you’re not going to make a story arc out of it? So… a week of material on the spy thing, another week on the knitting needles.

It is hard for a walking joke like Earl not to do something funny.

I feel like whenever comics characters become aware they’re in a comic strip that it is hinting that the strip will be ending. I really hope that’s not the case here. This is a great comic!

Tomorrow, four panels, no dialogue, both of them sitting on the couch with their arms folded. Oh, wait it’s Sunday. Eight panels then.

Earl, are you sure that Opal left them there or where they moved by the cartoonist knowing you would sit on them?

They’re not really that sharp. Now if it was her darning needle….

One of the things I find about “getting older” is that we can laugh at ourselves, and don’t take ourselves, or life as seriously, anymore.

I think that’s why Pickles has such a great appeal to “Seniors” because we all see a little bit of ourselves in Earl and Opal.

Great strip and one of my must reads everyday ! Keep making us laugh Mr, Crane. You do such a good job at it.
