Does anyone else agree with me that Elvis’s reaction would be very different right about now?

Awww… Pucky’s having an honest-to-Schultz, Charlie Brown moment. Or in this case, unlike poor Linus, he actually SAW the elusive mailman. There will be no hard documentation. We feel for you, Puck. We will always believe you…

Elvis will never believe poor Puck without proof – isn’t it always the case you run out of film/memory etc right when you need it most

“Cryptid”. That was a new word to me, but I see that it classes the mailman with Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster.

<This was the operator of “chatnoir’, Mr. Nibbles.>

The “Abby” walked up to Megan’s table, then set the thick, compartmented tray down between the two cats. He then bowed deeply as he backed away, allowing Mr. Nibbles to step forward and lift Megan’s paw with his. “Ms Katz, you are simply a vision of loveliness.” He cooed, giving her paw a gentle lick. Megan giggled; “Oh, I’ll bet you say that to all the Tuxies..” Tre-C rolled her eyes. Then Mr. Nibbles took the cloche in his paw and lifted it away with a flourish. There was a momentary mushroom cloud that quickly rose and dispersed, leaving the distinct aroma of catnip and fresh fish. “We smoke our salmon a little differently than most,” Nibbles said with a glint in his eye. The indentation in the center of the tray is insulated and is filled with little chunks of charcoal. Just before being brought out, chef sprinkles the hot coals with “herbe aux chats”. The effect, of course, dissipates rather quickly, so I’ll beg your leave in order for you to enjoy the dish as it was intended. Bon Appetite!”

That little finger-to-paw thing, so reminiscent of Michelangelo’s picture of the creation of Man, also brings to mind a video I saw of a little octopus hesitantly extending a tentacle to touch an offered human fingertip. Unfortunately, once the octopus actually touched the fingertip, its senses suddenly realized that what was attached to the other end was a creature much bigger than it, and it drew back in fear.

Out of memory. Poor Puck. And Elvis won’t believe him. Can Burt be a witness or is the camera not being manned or catted by Burt?

My front entrance door has a storm door with glass top to bottom. On warm days, I would sometimes sit on the porch reading. Jasper was an indoor kitty, but he look out at me and tap the glass to get my attention. Sometimes he would rest his paw on the glass and I would touch it with my finger. It was 20 years ago yesterday that Jasper jumped through my classroom window and into my heart. I was lucky to have him for almost 18 years. He was the bestest little kitty boy there ever was or ever will be, and I will miss him forever and always.

Thanks, Georgia. This one is a print it out and put it on the fridge keeper!

Years ago when I delivered papers, one house had a couple of cats would watch me from the window. I would give them the slow blink and they were excited. One day in the summer, one cat was outside sitting on the sidewalk. He, or she, enjoyed my scratching his/her face. When I started to walk away I was chased and attacked at the ankles. How dare I walk away.

Good morning and happy Caturday, orbsters and orbabies. It’s turkey day here at the cabin, with a gathering of family and friends.

At this point, to the best of my knowledge, Pam (ppyfss) is still sedated and on a course of antibiotics. I will provide more info when I get some.

Oh my cat, Mailmen are real! And they have communicated with Pucky from the other side! Our Pucky has empathic as well as precognitive abilities.

I wonder who else Pucky will be able to see and communicate with? Hmmmm?

    KITTEN UPDATE

We had a special delivery yesterday. Signature required. It was addressed to Clark and I had to round him up to get the paw print on the pad.

Once the door was closed I took it upon myself to discover what nefarious plot was in play. To my surprise the package contained a business startup package from one of those Wyoming shell company services.

Turns out the little beggars have gone corporate. Stampede Partners, LLC. All 4 of the boys listed as primary partners, with an option for Nina to buy in. They are trying to escape individual liability for the breakage as the 4 of them (sometimes 5 with Nina) stampede through the house.

Through the closet, bedroom, the living room, into the dining room across the table (whoosh goes the table cloth), Down the hall, SLIDE THAT RAG RUG, back up to the bedroom and across the bed (sorry, was that you kidney I just stomped, so sorry, bye bye gotta go) and back into the closet.

I am pleased to announce full integration. With the older boys, with Spud and Shadow, and yes, even with grumpy Nina. Elvis and Lupin now own the house.

Oh yeah. With us as well. No big deal that they love Lisa. She is the Num Num Giver. But when Lupin popped up on the sofa, walked over and plopped down in my lap, I knew we had succeeded. Both of the kittens have stopped the automatic fight or flight reaction when we enter a room. No hint of it at all. It has been replaced with the stay or play decision.

At this point they are both very mushy. We wake in the middle of the night to find one or both sleeping next to us or even on us. I suspect they will become more refined and sophisticated as they reach maturity (that is code for being an inscrutable cat), but for now we’ll take what we can get. They are a joy to behold.

And, their outside mom has finally begun using the kitty condo (2 story, heated, padded, windows) so we have a much better shot at trapping her for spay. We want to get that done before the snow flies.

Thank you, beloved orbsters!!! So appreciate the energy that helps me get through the pain! Now, it’s alleviating, I want to reflect some to others needing support, and add boops of my own. There may never be another group like this in the universe. So thankful I found you!!!

As always, and with deep gratitude, thanks to our beloved Georgia! And all the dear ones who inspire her!

    Loving you always, >^.,.^<

This from ppyfss‘s friend this morning.

Hi Leslie. We saw Pam last night. I just called the hospital, but there has been no change in her status. When Richard sat down and told her he was there, she seemed to purposely reach out a hand. Other than that, though, no conscious activity. I do think she’s in there and able to hear us, so I told her the whole TEN CATS community was praying for her. I’ll keep you posted.

Wait a minute… did the mailman’s electro-magnetic field interfere with the electronics of the camera making it give a false reading on the memory? Another theory for the Feline Enquirer.

If the camera wasn’t out of memory, the mailman would still somehow end up being entirely pixelated. Lupin and Elvis would just say “That’s not a mailman, that could be anybody!”

    Pandora Update:

She shed several days ago and yesterday she had a healthy mouse to eat. We know it was healthy because it had been working out in the exercise wheel at the pet store. When we first got Pandora and fed her, she would strike at the mouse but just strike. Now she is coiling around her prey which is what she is supposed to be doing. She is a type of constrictor. Now, if she can just manage to not try swallowing the mouse sideways, she’ll be doing great. I’m pretty sure it’s just being mostly blind that is causing her to misjudge her strike. Still, I don’t know of any vets that do cataract surgery on snakes and I shudder to think how much it would cost even if they did.
