My mom and sister came to visit me when I lived in Virginia. My mom made the best potato salad ever and only used Best Foods Mayonaise. We drove all over Newport News looking for Best Foods, finally gave up and bought Hellman’s. We found printed on the label “Known as Best Foods on the West Coast.” The salad turned out great!
Worked at a Vlasics canning plant when I was in college. We made so many brands of pickles and other pickled vegetables, the only difference was the spice mixture that went into the brine.
Having lived to the ripe old age of – well, never mind. I’m just amazed at how the human race survived long enough to propagate itself given what it has eaten for thousands of years, never knowing how bad it was for them. Red meat bad. Then white meat bad. Eggs bad. Oh wait, then eggs good. Salt, sugar, MSG, whole milk, then no-fat milk, gluten, and lord knows what else. Well, having lived this long I have, after careful consideration, said the heck with it and I eat pretty much what I want to eat (in moderation; I’m not stupid – senile perhaps, but not stupid). If I’m taken out by a good rib-eye or BLT with extra mayo, so be it. Even the condemned are permitted a good last meal.
Too much is bad. That is the rule to go by. Red meat, water, arsenic too much and it is bad for you. Same with anything else. Too much oxygen and your body literally starts melting like an Ebola virus attack.

I usually use salad dressing now. It’s more interesting and you can change the type and keep it interesting. But what is Carmen talking about?

Winslow must be part of the Millennial generation. They are getting blamed for killing mayo.

Yeah, quit killing mayo! Kill ketchup instead!

“If it tastes good or feels good, it’s bad for you.” :D

I hope to get that final question answered as well.

Please, Carmen, eat all the mayo you want! It’s good for you, and maybe you can keep them in business.
