I don’t think a person’s wedding day is a fair test of suitability for a job.
On the other hand…. "barista"’s not a great career choice at Jane’s age anyway.
I do remember her selling hot dogs…. or was it ice cream? …when she temporarily lost her newspaper job.
Come to think of it, though… if the cafe was open…

OK, so this confirms it’s a dream. Jane needs to master lucid dreaming, so she can at least control the narrative. Then wake herself up when she’s ready to end the story.
