Care to elaborate the duckling bit?

All flammables are some kind of smoke. You don’t get a flame from solids or liquids. And all smokes are flammable at the right temperature.

The artificial heart has an opening in the back where he puts his hand. It only works for one person at a time.

When you blow out a candle you can reignite it by passing a lit match through the smoke curling off the wick.

Ducks also grow to maturity in a matter of months and are born able to feed them selfs. So it’s not a very good comparison.

For us humans, the more “ducklings” the more bills. Yuck yuck… lol, etc…

Okay……how do you set smoke on fire when it comes from fire?

The stuff that makes smoke black is super-fine carbon particles. Any fine powder that contains carbon is flammable & any ignition source can set it off all at once. Occasionally you hear about explosions in flour mills when a stray spark ignites the flour dust in the air. They used to be much more common. Thank Ceiling Cat for modern safety regulations & dust control equipment!

Parents had a gas incinerator installed, it had two burners: One to light the papers, the second to burn the smoke before it went up the chimney.

I didn’t realize smoke was flammable. I thought the particles were mostly those where combustion was complete — in other words, tiny ash particles. That it is flammable helps explain flashover in intense fires.
