Calvin is very creative. A couple of years ago, I visited a contemporary museum in Sydney where one of the exhibits was a replica of a two socket power switch. The lady museum guide thought it was fabulous. I was so totally underwhelmed. I have not and will not waste my time ever visiting again.
my mother use to do jig saw puzzles when i was a kid. she had one that was just a circle of uniform brown. the title was “A close up of one of the three bears”
He’ll probably be able to look at this all-black picture and make out the bear and the campground, while everyone else who looks at it will see a piece of paper colored black!

Art critics have referred to this as Calvin’s “Black Period.”

Susie has an extremely meticulous personality. Calvin it won’t work out between you. You’re to wild for her.

“Jeez, why don’t you take out an insurance policy on it?” LOL. Nice comment, Cal.

Susie should have known not to lend her crayon to that future Goth.

Why do I feel like I’ve seen this strip recently, or at least, one very much like it?

No wonder Susie wants her crayon back. It’s sure to get blunted.

Cavlin’s “Black Period” was most of his artistic life. He liked the Black Knight too.

I suspect that Calvin’s next crayon borrowing will be “red” and will involve a tiger “enjoying” his next meal. Hobbes will be happy to pose.

Easier to do a Polar Bear in a snow storm, no crayons needed.
