But Earl, did you make sure that the dishes were clean before you took them out of the dishwasher?

DH is in charge of emptying dishwasher, I did it for 32 years, he’s done it (most of the time) for about 8 yrs, so he has 24 more years of emptying the DW before it’s my turn again, he’s also on supper duty most of the time past 4-5 years, along time to catch up on that one too :-)

IMO! What is important is that he finally realized that he can do ’women’s work’, namely fill or empty a dishwasher. AFter all, it seems to have been mainly his wife’s job to do so. He seems to have been lost in that era where some jobs were the wife’s and some were strictly for the men. Obviously, since they live alone, there was no one else to encourage each of them to try new household tasks.

Earl some things are better left unsaid ….

Earl has a weird view of Math.

I want credit for making coffee without being asked.

Of course I was the first one up. But still I want credit.

The Late and Unlamented sat up once with our younger daughter when she had a cold; he held her on his chest so she could breathe.

Even the girls got tired of him singing his own praises.

I’m happy to do kitchen chores, etc., while my husband keeps the cars running properly and deals with other mechanical equipment and repairmen when needed.

Earl, “Thanks times 1000” is just a little more accurate…

It’s obvious that God intended this division of effort between the sexes. Otherwise, why would men be expected to stick around long enough for the hour or so ( on a good day) part that’s fun and the woman be expected to have morning sickness, swell up like a balloon, and then get to deliver the baby?

Earl is like a 10 year old now expecting mom to do all the work.

Looks like someone is sleeping on the couch for awhile.

“Well, I put the cat out.”

“We don’t own a cat.”

“Hmm.”
