Isn’t it Congress who has us on a leash?

As the old expression goes, “Lawyers are like nuclear weapons. Nobody likes them, but you have to have yours because the other guy has his.” I have a couple of lawyers in my family and know some others. None of them are in criminal law though.

There is no evidence of that in Canada. Last night’s news reports a convict suing the nation for $65,000,000 because solitary confinement caused emotional damage.

Stop leading the witness!

Not only should lawyers be kept on a short leash, curbed, and muzzled, but they should be neutered or spayed to keep their population from proliferating !

That doesn’t make as much sense as leash laws for children.

If the legal profession didn’t exist, the USA would be a police state; ruled by a fascist, racist government. There wouldn’t be any amendments to the constitution or child labor laws or a maximum hour work week. Back alley abortions & sweatshops would still exist. As imperfect and flawed as our system of government has become of late, we did break the Robber Barons, curb J. Edger’s FBI, defeat McCarthy and Nixon.

The administration argues that the $315 million in damages awarded to the victims in the case cannot stand.

The legal question is one that only a lawyer could love, but not the people whose lives have been affected.

The question is whether the notification of the lawsuit was sent to the wrong address.

I come from a family of lawyers. I never understood all the negative comments lawyers in general provoked. Still don’t. That said, I’ve never been on the wrong end of a lawsuit.

Make lawyers filing nuisance suits wear a dunce cap. One thing left out of the comic is, there are female lawyers too. I’m sure they file nuisance suits for a few bucks.

This strip is degrading and disrespectful to one of Western society’s greatest contributions to mankind and, as a lawyer myself, I take great umbrage at being brazenly besmirched in such a manner. [HURUMPH]

These lawyer jokes have gotten out of hand and have been “words of wisdom” when they are not.

We need to put the democrats on a leash also.
