Good morning Tracy Fans. I want to ask everyone to take a moment to remember a very great man that has brought smiles to many over the years. Stan Lee has passed away. RIP to a hero.
In addition to Stan Lee, Douglas Rain, voice of HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey, died at the age of 90. He was hired because Kubrik liked his Canadian accent. He was one of the founders in Canada’s Stratford Shakespeare Festival.

For context, 2001 was released in 1968 right at the peak of the Space Age, which transformed the Dick Tracy strip of the time.
Late yesterday, you mentioned Tracy’s Navy service, and said that, depending on who one talks with, it was a late addition to Tracy’s backstory.
Tracy was commissioned as a Lt. Sr. Grade in Naval Intelligence on May 21, 1944. He was to operate in plain clothes, and Captain Bowline assured Chief Brandon it would not interfere with his regular police duties, but it would “mean much” to the Navy. This more or less set the stage for the early part of the Brow continuity, because the Brow was a spy who first came to Tracy’s attention because one of his underlings was seen watching the harbor with field glasses.
This was one of those “out of the blue” moments in Dick Tracy (at least it felt that way to me) and I suppose it was just Gould keeping his character current with the times. I am not aware that Tracy’s Navy duties were ever mentioned again during Gould’s time on the strip.
Even for a Dick Tracy story, this storyline has more holes than Swiss cheese & grows more tedious by the day Please, Joe & Mike, wrap it up & give us the work we know you’re capable of!
Well, it took a while to happen, but the MCU is on the Polar Vortex/Piotr Volkov case now! As the engine of the Law builds up steam, more rapid progress is in store….
This one is in my lineup. On first pass I missed that the guy on our left was not only suggesting to speak in Haiku but was actually doing so. Thanks to who ever pointed that out.

Good morning™, investigators of habits!
So, Vortex is a lawyer! I really wondered what business he was supposed to be in.

And he has been out of the “mob” for 2 decades. They may have computer back up, but no one can crack their hard copy without walking in to do it.

Since when is Lizz nothing more than a glorified secretary?
Also, Tracy is NOT a gentleman, making Lizz carry those heavy files herself.

The strip is better than novocaine!

If there was no dialogue and I just had the art to go on, I’d swear they were flirting.
