I turn on the defroster and rear defogger to full blast. By the time I scrape the ice off the car, it’s good to go.

It amazes me how many people drive with the windows frosted over with only a four inch square of ice cleared out directly in front of them. It confirms my suspicion that automobile manufacturers could leave the mirrors off the car, and most drivers won’t miss them.

I always like to warm up the car right before I get car-jacked.

Thankfully I live in the desert. We bundle up like it’s an extended arctic excursion when it gets below 50. That is below +50, not 50 below 0.

To illustrate how little my wife understands on the subject. One year we took a vacation over the holidays. She said it was cold getting in the car and I should go warm it up before the family followed. The place we rented had a garage. I told her that’s not warming up the car, that’s committing suicide.
