I’m from New Jersey. On Tuesday, I’ll be holding my nose and voting for Menendez the same way I held my nose to vote for Hillary. Menendez is bad, but the alternative is far worse.

Surprisingly enough though personally repugnant, he has voted for everything I would want my senator to vote for. Bob Hugin would do the opposite. So I am voting for ME. Voting for Hugin would be voting against ME. So pedal your BS somewhere else Mr. Bok.

The federal corruption charges were filed by Chris Christie’s prosecutors; Christie was looking to be able to appoint a REPUBLICAN Senator to take his place. Ended in a mistrial, a juror stated that 10 out of 12 were saying NOT guilty. The charges were about whether gifts and favors between Menedez and a wealthy eye doctor were more than just because they were friends.

The Repub is Bob Hugin, executive chair of Celgene that produces and commercializes cancer treatments. Their history of anti-trust and fraud (see Wikipedia) concerns me a lot more than an exchange of gifts and favors with one guy. It sucks, but the lesser of two evils is often the only choice.

BTW, the definition of corruption was narrowed by SCOTUS under McDonnell v. United States which was about charges against REPUBLICAN Bob McDonnell, former Virginia governor

Some distraction from Bok? Why doesn’t he tell us about #45 draining the Deficit Swamp? Or shredding the Constitution?

Thanks to superposition, here is updated information on Senator Menendez. Per Wikipedia “On January 31, 2018, the Justice Department announced they were dropping all charges against Menendez.”

While I was reading his Wikipedia article, I found that another time that Republicans tried to smear Menendez was in 2012 when they tried to link him to a prostitution scandal. Women later came forward and said they were paid to lie about Menendez. Sounds like what the Repubs tried to do with Mueller.

The absolute irony is that the Senate “Ethics” Committee “admonished” Menendez in a letter AFTER he was cleared. IMO, the Republicans running Ethics Committees is the ultimate in ridiculousness.

Odd. As I recall Menendez was given a clean bill of legal health by the US Department of Justice after the jury in his corruption trial hung. The jurors further questioned the quality of the DoJ charges against Menendez.

Now, Menendez has been tried and acquitted. Dotard, meanwhile, hasn’t been tried for any of his numerous crimes. So, your point is lost Chippie. Trump, until he stands trial for his misdeeds is unfit and Menendez isn’t.
