$1,000 a week? Doesn’t seem all that generous these days. If you’re bringing home $1,000 every other week (like many I know), then you’re already making that kind of money before taxes! Okay, so I know it’s not the same, but in too many cities, Denver is one, $1,000 a week is poverty level!
We’re getting the same business now as we were with the anti-Tracy. We are intentionally not being shown his face, suggesting that if we saw the face we’d know the person. With anti-Tracy, the hiding of the face was a red herring because nobody had ever heard of him before (talk about beyond obscure) and he was easily dispatched by Tracy.
In this case, Lafayette would seem to be the logical person and he has a personal reason to see Polar brought to justice. If it is Lafayette, it could possibly be a way to tie the two Polar Vortex plots together in a way that might begin to make some sense. If it is not Lafayette, it had better be a good reveal of who this person is—fool me twice shame on me.
Oh, well, I suppose now that Polar Vortex has hired a new employee, his troubles are over, and he’s finished his hot coffee, I heard he’s headed over to the gym for a steam bath.
Not seeing his face is just a little bit of suspense. Mr. Bigg and Venus were both introduced this way and it took weeks or even months before we saw their faces. We should thus character’s face by tomorrow.
It’s been a long time coming, but I’m anxious to see the threads of this story coming together. I think it’s starting to happen.
The new employee should help with Devil’s being overworked, but that only solves Polar’s problem for the moment. Another complicating action is sure to come up soon.
So Polar offers $1000 a week and expects a person who could do what he claimed in Friday’s strip to take that from someone he doesn’t know. If that’s Lafayette, he’s probably thinking “What a cheap guy Vortex is!” LOL
I don’t think the amount of the salary matters if this is Lafayette. He just wants to get an inside track with Polar. I still can’t believe how dumb Polar is for hiring a guy he heard bragging on the phone but who appears so desperate for money that he will take as little as $1000 a week for joining an illegal scheme.
(Hall of Fame Box) Deaf Smith pronounced his nickname “Deef” rather than the traditional way. He played an extremely significant part in the Battle of San Jacinto by destroying Vince’s Bridge over Buffalo Bayou (pronounced BYE-oh by native Houstonians) prior to the battle. This cut off Santa Anna’s only means of escape.

Good morning™, offer takers!
I wouldn’t count on Polar being around long enough to give out that Christmas bonus.

Who knew being a criminal paid so well? Does anyone know how I can get in contact with Polar Vortex? I know how to reboot cable modems.

Polar certainly didn’t skimp on spending his drug distribution proceeds on the best dental work money could buy…

Sunday’s Dick Tracy comic is at the Tribune Content website.
And the “great reveal” is as everybody speculated about is Lafayette Austin aka “Striker”…
Devilia’s reaction to Lafayette should be interesting to say the least…
