We have several feral cats, coyote, fox and other vermin-eating varmints and STILL have @$#+!!! chipmunks!!! They dig up my hyacinth and daffodils bulbs/roots just enough to figure out they aren’t edible enough, but enough that my garden has holes where plants should be growing. Grrrrrr!!!!!!
When my father was a boy growing up on a farm in Vermont, he rescued a chipmunk from one of my grandfather’s barn cats. The rodent bit him on the little finger hard enough to break it and sever tendons. Needles to say, Chip ‘n Dale weren’t his favorite Disney characters after that.
A friend asked me to rehab a mobile home that had been unoccupied since 2006. As we were replacing all the plumbing we found enough pine cone seed shells to fill a 50 gallon drum. Seems Mr. Squirrel was not much of a house keeper.

Serves you right! The sins of the Spring come to visit you in the Fall. Why didn’t you let Luddy do his thing?

Someone want to explain that one to me? I suspect it’s geographically or culturally specific in some way.

He let the squirrel live and it built a nest that he had to pay a repairman to remove.

Squirrels are rats in fur coats, and just as destructive.

No chipmunks in FL, but in MI they once filled my one of my grandfather’s work boots with acorns.

I had to clean out 2 dead mice by the main 240v relay. The problem took care of itself.

Let the cat do what cats do.
