Nope it was a wave with 40 seats changing in the House, seven governorships and only losing two in the Senate (to voter suppression and other tactics). It was a wave, but on election night the journalists were just too eager to call it quits.
No, it was bad for the Republicans. They added to the Senate, but that’s because about 2/3 of the seats up for grabs were already Democrat. They lost House seats, Governors, judges, and State legislators. A lot of them.
Meanwhile, the Empty Orange Ego, who spent the campaign telling people at rallies that he was on the ballot, now says “I wasn’t on the ballot.” Because he is psychologically incapable of ADMITTING that he did badly. Which is pathetic.
Democrats gained control of The House. Congrats. Their practical potential for any big accomplishments or changes with that narrow control is highly limited, and what they can do depends on their total internal agreement, which is unlikely, and already stressed by just the Speaker conflict. Meantime, the Republicans, with their more solid grasp of the Senate, and the Presidency, can very effectively control anything coming to them from the House, AND continue judicial appointments. Game, set, and match GOP. Good luck for the future Dems, but you’re still in disarray.
During the eight years of President Obama’s terms Republicans gained over 900 seats in state legislatures. About 360 were flipped back on Election Night. And there are still races being counted.

“Midterm Election Wins Bolster trump’s Mandate” says the headline on a newspaper I saw last week.
Epoch Times, an anti communist paper owned by Falung Gong. Boy, are they wrong.

Don’t forget the governorships and legislatures that the Democrats flipped.

Nah.
That’s far too neutral and abstaining for cable news pundits these days.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bring on the next election. It’ll be a blue tsunami.

The cause and effect is backward here. Donald campaigned for candidates that the polls showed were likely to win so he could declare personal victory

Not “It depends on who you ask,” but “It depends on WHOM you ask.”
