I love that smile! :D I wish my kids had done that to the photographer at Sears when they were that age. LOL

I would make duplicates and give them to all his classmates….

Just who does he think is going to develop that “FILM”??

I keep hearing Calvin and Theodore here.

2 things I want to say:

Firstly Dad, don’t give him a counter – that’s your fault to letting him know when to act like thatSecondly, Calvin: Keep it and Dad will take care of you personally, and he won’t care about going to jail either.

I had a technique for taking pictures of my grandchildren. I’d focus on one part of the room, wait for a child to run through it and press the shutter. It works best on bright, sunny days when I can shoot at 1/1000 sec shutter speed.

LOL- Calvin’s “DURRRR” face here is one of the funniest one-panel shots ever- the timing is just PERFECT. He’s just being such a wisenheimer about it, too.

Film? Who uses film?

My dad would be taking off his belt if I did that.

Okay, I may be stupid, but why not take a candid of C and share it instead of trying to re-mold a “unique” character as some perfect image of childhood??

His smile cracked me up! I would have to use that one.

Meanwhile, Hobbes is waiting patiently for his turn at posing for the camera, all smiley and perfect.

I don’t see a separate viewfinder on this film camera, so it’s probably single-lens reflex. That means Dad can’t see what’s going on when he presses the shutter, so Calvin should have gotten away with these faces.

I used to take pictures of kids on ponies. The one thing I learned is to say or do something silly to get the kid’s attention and then when they realize the joke get the picture before they remember their sitting on an animal thrice their size.

I’d say Dad’s education is seriously lacking.

Beat the kids butt and then take the picture.

The advantage of digital cameras. Erase the old photos and start again. Not to mention the capacity.

I think they should send that one.

Yesterday I just howled. Today is even louder. The incomparable Calvin!

LOL! I’m betting in the third panel, Calvin is probably saying “DIIIIIIHHHHH!” as he “smiles” for the photo.

Ahh – memories of pre-digital days! I once used an entire roll of 35 mm film to get one decent picture of my then two-year old daughter. I can soooo relate!

He actually looks very like my “official” sixth birthday photo, except I had my tongue out too!

I have all of CAlvin’s ’toons ’ – and this series is one of my favorites… and is quite true. There is always a kid or two in a group that does this.
