I know people who claim they have the Only Right Interpretation because they have had a Revelation. I wanted to do what the Ozzy and Millie strip said.
It almost seems like I called it yesterday (all my troubles seemed so far away… ahem!). My mom went to see Help! when she was pregnant of me, and she said I reacted to the music. So I have a special affinity for the Help! soundtrack.
They have small vehicles that drive around a stationary record to play it. When are we going to get a Unicorn™ record player? (Dana, this is a great merchandising opportunity. Hint, hint.)
Hmmm… No, sorry… I can’t see “Help!” by The Beatles to be about unicorns. I’m sure they’ve written one about unicorns at some point. Maybe “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” would be more fitting! :)

Just be glad Marigold said it about something arbitrary.

Would Todd the candy-exhaling dragon like “Puff” by Peter, Paul, and Mary?

Round and round that record spins (on Marigold’s horn) all day.

Marigold, you’re so vain, I’ll bet you think this song is about you. Don’t you? Don’t you?

You can have your own opinions but you are not entitled to your own facts, Phoebe.

Per Umberto Eco, there’s no one right interpretation of a creative work—but there are wrong interpretations…such as “Help” being about unicorns.

“The Death of the Author” is a pet peeve of mine. Marigold just got on my list.
