I use the good ones. I can rinse them out and use them to wipe down other things, like the top of the washer, etc. I also wash out the swiffer sweeper sheets. You can reuse them a few times. Saves $$
I have several bins of rags that get used and washed until they die (or are used for something I won’t wash – machine oil, for example). For some things, like covering food in the microwave, I use a paper towel. Until I got one particular roommate, a 25-count pack of paper towels lasted me well over a year. He refuses to use clean rags for ANYTHING and doesn’t understand why I object to buying paper towels 4 times a year. I don’t understand him AT ALL.
Thirty-five years of triathlons could get fairly expensive. But think of all the money I saved on paper towels, rotating through and repurposing that endless supply of race t-shirts. Repurposing them to, say, wipe expensive sugar-water residue off multiple expensive bikes. Okay, I’m not making myself feel a whole lot less financially reckless. Time to go back to the usual plan: Comparing myself to auto racers, equestrians, boaters, country club members and smokers.

How about a cloth? A tablespoon of liquid isn’t that much. It could be absorbed by a napkin.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. And where there’s a way, somebody will.

There are some things you just don’t clean up with a t-shirt and throw in the washer! Yours truly, Bounty Man

I understand that, if you throw out enuf paper towels, you can soak up all the water left by a hurricane. Been field-tested, too!
