Nice is Heart and Dean! Whether she was good or not!

Kat’s got a tin ear! Who knew?

Hey, wait a minute! If Kat’s that bad, how did she manage a recall audition? Did she just throw this on purpose??

Maybe there wasn’t that much to choose from? Kat couldn’t want some alone time with Dean, since he’s got a part as well.

Heart and Dean are practicing what some theater folks call “lobby lies.” What you say to actors when they come out to the lobby after a show and ask what you thought of the show. Happens a lot in community theater. :o) I have given and received my share of lobby lies.

Sounds about typical for a junior high show.

I greatly enjoy how Heart’s facial expression is echoing one of her mother’s in the second panel.

Blune’s question of whether Kat may be doing this on purpose is a good one. She may also be going through an age related voice change. Boys do that more dramatically, but girls do, too. Or she might have an infection.

There still will be one more in call backs for this part, as I recall. She might be incredible.

Or, is she that bad, but gets the part anyway, to set up the next part of the arc?

That’s the way of the entertainment world…

This is why the friends and family audience is a waste of time.

Mazye Bird is a lazy bird in Horton Hatches An Egg. Maybe her take is that the character is a bad singer?
