I make crocheted items; toys, dolls, baby blankets, etc. And it’s fun to give them to people, children especially. We made a lot of hand-made gifts with our kid and when the Grands and relatives loaded her with toys, we’d go thru her toys and chose some to give away to other kids who may not be so lucky to have generous family.
I’m an avid Star Trek viewer, but I’ve never seen any mention of the holiday of Xmas. I wonder if the third world war in its scenario would have pushed aside any childhood fantasies. But, I’m amazed at the resilience of children as I look at the kids at play in war torn areas of the world. I think Santa would survive, and maybe the baby Jesus, too.
First we go to church to honor Jesus & give thanks for everything that has been done for us & with us! Then a meal from God’s bounty & then we celebrate Family & friends with gifts! We also honor Family & friends who have gone to a better place & will not be with us physically but are in our hearts & minds!!
This is more like the creepy ghosts in “Scrooged”! Let’s pray that we never have to see drone deliveries like this. UGH!! However Drones do have their value-theycarry supplies to trapped hikers, survey places humans can’t go, etc. Keep them there, but not Santa! Boo.
I always knew where the presents came from in spite of all the Santa nonsense. How about telling kids that if you love / like someone, it’s good to give them presents at this time of year.

Self interest produced more toys than good intentions.
I’ve only made a few toys. People doing it for money may make tens of thousands.

What’s with that boring old low-tech Christmas tree? Make a hologram and put that up instead, Dr. Mel!

I wonder what the author of their book could do with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”?

At least he got the “Happy Christmas” part right. Nice nod to original text.
