If performance art is just being weird around other people, then I’ve been doing performance art my entire life.

Am I rich and famous yet?

Performance art is just the simple art of doing whatever comes to mind and presenting it as ‘art’. Someone else may like it and give you money, others will just ignore it and leave you alone.

“Performance Art” is what you do when you have NO talent or ability to create REAL art.

We are subjected to performance art almost every day, directly from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

That sounds like a great idea! I am about to become a performance artist.

One band I was in was taking a break, and an audience member asked if she could do her performance art during the break. We said yes, and among the harmlessly goofy stuff she did, she also started rhythmically slapping our microphones. The microphone owner just about died on the spot.

Reminds me of a scene from “The Big Lebowski.”

Oh give it a couple years as the reruns catch up, she gets WAY weirder.

“Performance” art is too ephemeral… the art evaporates as soon as the performance stops. An art form for our times, but not for the ages.
