So strange that in our society letting a child watch someone’s head being blown off is okay but the minute a couple starts to kiss it’s over. Wonder if anyone remembers the old saying, “Make love not war”.
I sometimes play a game based on the “Friday the 13th” movies. It’s ridiculously violent, to an almost comical extent – blood, gore, viscera – and then they added a brief sex scene (You don’t actually see anything but the guy’s back) and it nearly got in BIG trouble.
Every time I talk about the way our whole culture is soaked on violence until it drips out our ears, prople look at me like I have three heads snd go back to watching blood-soaked media. Mind you, the blood-soaked media are a symptom, not a cause.
In Japan they have very violent cartoons. Unlike America where Wyle E. Coyote comes back after dying, when a cartoon character dies there, they stay dead. Sorry Kenny.
This leads to the question of violent video games. Do they desensitize children to violence or do they allow them “to get it out of their systems?” I guess it depends on whether the child can understand the difference between “make believe” and reality – some adults have a problem with this concept.
Nicole And they wonder why there is so much violence and shootings going on now a days. Back when I was a kid and still had black& white TV this crap we have now a days was not blasted all over even if it was happening.

Writhing in pain, A-OK. Writhing in Ecstasy, Major No-No. As entertainment, destroying life is preferred over creating life.

The norms of the 1950’s are still with us to a degree.

Stock breeding societies are not only primitive but also immoral and careless – children could watch cattle sex scenes from their very infancy on.
