Cats do this too! My Tigger started making the classic,’ I’m hacking up a hairball’, sound! so, I got up, from my chair, to see if I had to clean something up and nothing was there. When I turned around,there she was, laying on my chair!
4 rescue dogs. All do this. One in particular wants a specific spot sometimes and used her VERY annoying bark to get it.
Sweetheart will act like she needs to go out, but when i get up she will head for the laundry room.
Where her treats are stored.
If you want the best seat in the house, you’ll have to move the dog.
