My little brother used to beat me at checkers all the time. In fact, everybody did. I’m terrible at checkers and I’ve never figured out why.

How can I be so good at chess but so bad at checkers?

And Charlie Brown wonders why nobody likes to play with him!

This time, I’m on Lucy’s side, and that doesn’t happen every day.

“It’s not if you win or lose, it’s how you play the game”!

I don’t like this “original” CB much, but it’s interesting to see how it was earlier

My oldest boy wanted me to teach him “Chest.” “Buddy, you cry when we play sorry and you win. Chess hurts!”

That’s what my older brother always did when it looked like I’d win a board game, up end it, but I always was an annoying little sister. When Mom would drill him in multiplication, I’d yell out the answers he was slow with. Never did get 8 times 7 before I did.

Five cents please, plus the cost of a new game of checkers.

Now I know where Lucy learned it

I’m the eldest of 4 and could not possibly care less if i win a board game. The siblings hated when I won; they just thought it was wrong since I didn’t care.

It must be after Christmas, or they haven’t decorated the tree yet. Lucy went on to beat up his ego in everything.

Later there is a strip that shows Lucy beat CB in checkers 10,000 straight games.
