This reminds me of when my daughter met Elvis. She became a fan at 3 (we still don’t know how; neither my husband nor I are fans). We took our daughters to a local amusement park that had live performances of some great imitators (she was about 6 at the time). We went to see Elvis & got front row seats. What’s funny was, she KNEW that the real Elvis had died, but her reaction was exactly like those newsreels they show of girls seeing him: wide-eyes, hands in front of face, screaming. She waved to him & he waved back: she melted. He then – while singing “Love Me Tender” – came into the audience to give out little scarves. He headed straight to our girl…and she completely shut down! Her head went down & she curled up in a ball. He put the scarf around her neck, touched her head, and headed to the next person. When she knew he was away, she uncurled & hugged the scarf. After the show was a Meet & Greet. The second he walked into the room, she went from standing next to me, to FLYING across the room and LEAPED into his arms (he was about 6’ tall, so it was quite a leap). He was wonderfully gracious. 2 years ago we went again. He remembered us & joked with her about that leap.
This era of Peanuts (in my opinion) is so much funnier than the later strips when Snoopy is able to be almost human. Snoopy make a great dog. Another kid? Not so much.

Ludwig has been dead for (as of this strip’s original publishing) approximately 130 years.

In another strip, Snoopy imitated many. CB told Schroeder he was imitating Beethoven, and Schroeder yelled, “It’s an outrage!”

Is this where they got the idea for the Beethoven series of movies?

It took me a double take, but I saw the gag: Snoopy’s ears are made up to look like Beethoven’s bust.

Be glad, Schroeder, that it wasn’t a member of the walking dead at the door.

For someone who was such a huge fan; surprised he fell for that one.

Snoopy really does a great impression, though.

I wonder the time Charlie Brown and Snoopy spent planning this little venture.
