There’s a great Sunday strip where Lucy gets a Shlabotnik card. Chuck offers her some humongous trades that Lucy always shoots down because “he’s kind of cute” (she ends up throwing the card away). Sometime, I’d like to total up how much all of Chuck’s cards (sometime in the mid-60’s) would be worth as a opposed to a single common. If all the cards were graded at a 9 or 10, probably in the eight figure range.

Why are they trading pictures and not cards? To make the joke work?

Collecter cards from the 50’s of Musial, Williams and Campanella are worth big bucks now.

I still cringe, when I think about the cards from the 60’s that we stuck into the spokes of our bikes, to make them sound cool.

I would have held out for the Mighty Five, but that’s just me.
