Reminds me of the comic with Lucy complaining how she didn’t get what she wanted for Christmas. All she got were some “stupid toys”. When asked what she wanted, she replied: “Real Estate”.

So obviously Schulz didn’t know this, as many Americans still don’t today, but the word “gypsy” is a racial slur, and it is of course always inappropriate to use the term “gyp”.

I thought it was the student who gave the teacher money or sexual pleasure.

Sounds like something kids today would expect.
