Garfield once demonstrated to the fourth wall a dog whistle in the vicinity of a sleeping dog — followed by a dog trumpet — much to the dog’s displeasure.

I saw an “anti anxiety aid” online that was a metal tube on a chain. You’re supposed to wear it around your neck and blow into it to relieve stress. Looks exactly like a dog whistle; a very expensive dog whistle.

Schroeder should have asked, “What if Snoopy goes deaf like Beethoven did?”

No harm done? Tell that to Snoopy! Poor dog!

Poor Snoopy.

Reminds me of the Andy Griffith show episode S5EP6, when Barney gets a bloodhound. The dog hates those whistles and attacks whoever is blowing it.

Only to Snoopy’s ears was any harm done.

That’s a rude awakening!

I’m glad Schulz eventually got away from the characters sticking their tongues out when something happened.

“Dog whistle” has been appropriated by political commentators, but otherwise, the actual whistle was discussed much more in my youth than it is now.

Aaaakk! Snoopys gonna take hours to hear again.

I remember this one.

My dad had a dog whistle. I could hear it. I wish I had it now—I’d love to know if I can still hear it, but it’s long gone.
