Doesn’t seem like much of a New Year’s Eve strip. If they don’t already have reservations there’s no point in going out.

Jimbo, it must not be “fine” or she wouldn’t be sitting there with her coat and gloves on holding her purse. (Hint, Hint)

She knows what she wants – do you? Or do we need Vicky to make a point?

The New Year will come no matter where you are or what you’re doing, alone or in a mob!

I think that Rose should say what she means.

around here we do what is called 1st night; it is like a pub crawl without the alcohol fueling it for families with kids.

This approach never works for me. She just ignores me.

Amazing how fast Rose was able to change clothes and get ready to go out for a party!

There’s a subtle message there somewhere.

I think this situation calls for Vicki’s…unique…methods of persuasion.

Looks like Rose wins the passive-aggressive award for the day—and Jimbo should know that “whatever you want to do is fine” should NEVER be taken at face value.

Whatever you want to do is fine Jimbo, but please notice I have changed my clothes already, and put my coat on and gotten my purse.

And, by Fine, she means that, now that you suggested it, you’d better be ready to make Vicki very Happy.

I’d rather stay on on New Year’s Eve and go out on New Year’s Day.

Actually thinking about – there are times I figure that husband plans to go out for dinner or just to go out and I will be dressed and ready even though I DON’T want to go, just to be ready for him – so being dressed and ready does not mean that someone WANTS to go out.

If you look carefully, you see that Rose whips on her coat and scarf (and presumably snatches up her purse) in the time between panel 1 and panel 3!
