You were doing great, Garfield, but then you just had to get infected with Jon’s “wonderingness”…

The answer is pretty much like the tootsie pop: the world may never know.

The lights are like Black Holes for flies. Once they get close enough, it sucks them right in.

Dead flies do not get into light fixtures. Only live ones do.

The answer is simple. Dead flies don’t get into light fixtures. Live flies get in and die there.

Yes on the last one. Or at least it’s possible to tell whether they’ve been eating grass or silage. Or gotten into wild garlic. (You’d think a former farm boy like Jon would know that. :) )

Jon obviously has straw for brains. His father must have stood him out in fields as a scarecrow.

Light fixtures have plenty of wiggle room between globe and fixture. Flies are attract to light, land on the globe, occasionally wander into the small open space and then into the fixture. From there, they generally don’t find their way out, and die. I would have expected Garfield to realize this.

    But probably not Jon.

And if pressing buttons on the remote doesn’t work, why do I yell at it and bang it on the table?

Yes… How DID those dead flies get in the light fixture when you never saw them flying around in there in the first place???? Is it some sort of buggy ritual to die in light fixtures and window sills? Hmmmmm Inquiring minds want to know!

Don’t let Jon watch the “Nova” episode on “Particle Entanglements” where it seems that nothing really exists unless it is “Observed”….
