where was Ziggy even planning going when he just had a hot bath?

I’m sure one of those pants is made of wool and that’s why he realized he has no underwear. He has itching.

Normally he doesn’t wear pants at all, but now he skips underwear?

Reminds me of a Minnesota joke: He’s wearing two shirts, a sweater, two pants, socks, scarf, coat, hat, mittens, and it’s time to get out of bed and dress for work.

He’s worried that somebody will see that there’s no underwear under all that?

Shouldn’t he be more concerned over his penchant for wearing no pants?

you mean all these years he’s actually been wearing flesh-colored pants?

The artist can draw Ziggy any way he wants to. After all he owns the comic strip.And Ziggy wears pants. They just do not always show.

With all those layers of clothes, one does not need underwear.
