When I was in high school, I went through a thing where if I got up while it was still dark, I would invariably throw up anything I tried to eat.
And right in the middle of that phase was the year President Ford decided we needed to have year-round daylight saving time, guaranteeing that kids would be waiting outside in the dark for the school bus.
Daylight Savings Time is an anachronism from the 1800s and needs to be abolished. Farmers have these new fangled things called electric lights nowadays. Rat’s theory wouldn’t work so well in June and July when it gets light at 5:30.
Rat is so right! That’s why winter is such a bummer (besides the cold, ice, and deep snow). And, as a bonus, being a retiree I can actually follow his and God’s advice!

Sorry, Rat, that rule by God only applies to places on or near the Equator.

Oh no! Someone mentioned religion! World War III is now upon us.

you want permanent darkness, Rat? go live in either Alaska or Lapland in the winter (well, the sun is only out for five hours or so)

I like the way you think, rat. But only for a few more weeks.

For once, I find myself in total agreement with a theological argument.

Agreed. It’s unnatural, immoral, and possibly illegal (a girl can dream!) to awake before the sun has risen.

Sorry, I do not buy it. If it truly was dark, there would be nothing to see in the strip.

I also thought some rats were nocturnal. Proves that God and Science don’t mix.

Just another reason to disagree and start a fight. The sad thig is that it’s a made-up reason.

I like getting up early, but not so early it’s dark out. Another part of retirement I am looking forward to. Three years 9 months and 21 days…..

Rat’s right on this one, more sleep equals a stronger immune system and that means stronger resistance to those pesky viruses!

My dad and I agreed that if God had wanted us to see the sunrise, He would have scheduled it later in the day!

Where exactly does, Rat, work? BTW he’s absolutely right on this one

If God wanted us to be up and about, he wouldn’t have invented the bed.
