Hey, it sounds like fun to me. Also good for clearing accumulated snow off the roof. Just ask the avalanche patrol.

I guess you have to know what “FIRE IN THE HOLE!!” means.

FIRE IN THE HOLE is shouted by explosives experts and demolition teams before they set off an explosive charge, it basically means “GET OUT OF THE WAY OR THERE WILL BE A FIRE IN YOUR HOLE!”

Sure Dad, you saved all the effort of shovelling the snow. But now you have to put the house back on its foundation.

The difficulty of accomplishing work is inversely proportional to the glee with which it is approached.

And High Explosives always reduce it by at least 50%.

Snow on the walk?… Best stay inside… No need for a walk… Let the season abide… Will too soon be spring… And all will be well… With no need for an act… Leaving such a sulphuric smell…

Nordic, where are you that your front doors open outward?

Anywhere in Blizzard country, there are doors that open inward. Some places have one of each–outward in case there’s a fire; inward in case three feet of snowdrift is against the door.

It means you have to be careful–you can’t just run into a door and expect it to let you out.
