So Earl was assuming that she was taken to Heaven and not dragged in the other direction?

Dinner will be ready as soon as you make it Earl !

Lead up to a romantic Valentine’s Day, I’m sure.

“She didn’t answer me, though, ’cause it turns out she was DEAD!”

I can’t picture her leaving socks and shoes in the middle of the kitchen floor. He might want to get her checked out.

At which point Earl was almost sent to heaven for asking that!

Flashback to our 60’s selves, then return to present.

Can’t get my head around Opal leaving shoes and socks in the middle of the floor. Did she sit down to take them off, then carry them to the kitchen? Is this normal behavior for Opal? I get the impression she’s quite houseproud. Odd.

But why were her socks and shoes in the middle of the kitchen floor ??

Hey, you’re retired. How about learning to cook and doing the odd meal here and there?

If he woke her to ask about dinner, he might be the one taken to heaven without tasting death?

Then she picked up her shoes and socks and threw them at him.

Opal is a mean-spirited, sarcastic woman who belittles her husband at every opportunity. Not the “kind of person that would happen to”.

More recent generations, the last couple at least, save the leftovers in the trash for the birds at the yummy garbage dump.

Several years ago when I was feeling really lousy, I told my husband I think I’m dying. He said no you’re not. Two days later I was having brain surgery. Guess who was right.
