My daffy-down-dillies (daffodils) popped up thru the leaf mulch 2 weeks ago and got frostbite tips. No flowers yet, but upper Illinois has suddenly soared up over 32 degrees, so, they’ll be blooming very soon. And my early hyacinth will be showing up any time now.
Saw my first robin on Feb. 12, a week later a flock of them with a few Cedar Waxwings mixed in. Last Monday I saw and heard a Red-wing Blackbird. Oh, I live in Wisconsin, and they always bring at least one more bad snowstorm after they arrive.
Arch Madness is also trademarked for the Missouri Valley Conference held every year in St. Louis. The championship game is on right now between Bradley and U of No. Iowa.
It hardly seems like the NCAA basketball tournament could be coming up so soon. But this year, at least around here, all those other signs of spring seem even further off. But in both cases, once it does get started, it’ll be all anyone can talk about for a while, the extent of which largely tied to where they live.

Enjoy your flowers; but I am happier skiing and skating up here in the Great White North.

And that’s why the Superbowl is referred to as “The Big Game” in commercials.

And the children play on, blissfully unaware of the unsuccessful attempt to shoehorn them into a template.

How long have they been stuck in that grade? They seem to have the patterns and events down pat.

The way the weather is acting, anything can happen. Even a blizzard on the 21st.
