Well now it appears that the cast of the comic are not prehistoric era dwellers, nor are they in our future. It seems they are actually a hippie commune in southern California, laughing their heads off at our reading their life.
Sorry, that happened decades ago with the first computer screen. Also with cube farms. It’s kind of like being on a submarine; you can’t look any more than 5 feet in any direction.
I get up once an hour, take a walk to the break room, look at the window and focus on the farthest thing I can see. The rest of my troglodyte coworkers never get out of their caves. I think I am more productive for my time away from my desk.
A few decades back boom boxes were generally accepted as the cause of early deafness in teens – and those unfortunates nearby. Recliners were blamed for degrading human physical condition. Now tiny screens on com devices are doing the same for young – and adult – eyes. Looks like an ‘up’ can produce a long term ‘down.’
Nearly every thing around them is artificial. Left by the ones who created them in the first place to survive the Hot House Earth they created. Though whoever is over the waters are still a civilization with high tech in operations as one Sunday a few years ago showed us when one of their warrior robots flew over to hover in front of Thor.

The cavemen are post-apocalyptic… must be, if they know about smart phones and orbiting telescopes. :-)

Show me a guy who spends 14 hours a day staring at his phone screen. And I’ll show you a guy that misses meals and wears patches in his clothes.
