This article states that it is 3.8 million trees. Still a lot but much less than 20 million trees.

I think it was to Mina Miller to whom Edison proposed marriage in Morse, not to Mary Stilwell … then again, in the Spencer Tracy movie, it was to Mary (a children’s book about Edison I recall used to own said it was to Mina).

Makes no sense as that many trees would have denuded the PRC by now. When I was in China all the chopsticks were indeed bamboo ( very sustainable), plastic (horrid but washable) and infory or faux ivory.

Trees are renewable, steel and silver are not. Oh, and I always THOUGHT broccoli looked like little trees!

I’m guessing they must plant a lot of trees, as well?

Oh no – quick, send the environmentalists to China. Such a dastardly deed they are doing! And then they can also live the way they are trying to get Americans to live.

In China, you need a special permit to cut down a tree. Chopsticks are made from bamboo, which is not a tree.
