At least he can’t throw very hard…

At least we know he can throw a fastball.

I’m mildly surprised he got the ball to the batter.

If he inflicted pain at least his speed is improving. He just needs direction.

When I was in H.S. a couple of my friends and I played a game called “cork.” We stole (appropriated for the purposes of scientific investigation) a large cork from the chemistry lab.

The cork has a rough surface and little mass, put a spin on it and you can skim it inches along the ground only to have it rise 20 feet in the air when it “catches.” It could “break” at a 90 degree angle. Catching it was a challenge. It is the perfect tool to learn about Bernoulli’s principle.

Wow, He actually got it to the plate?

Now he’s like a man eating tiger, he has a taste for human flesh!

At that velocity, it could have hurt only so much ….

“OK, that one went past him, but it was 20 feet over his head…”

It’s called being efficient. For Peter every batter looks like Mike Trout and one in the ribs is more efficient than four intentional balls.

If you get hit, you can’t say, ow! or complain, just take your base. Now of course when I played (too long ago) he would get one in the ribs when he came to bat.

I used to play a bit of baseball. One day tossing with another player to loosen up. I threw him a knuckle ball. Darn thing broke like crazy. I never could get that consistent though.

Laramy must be a real dolt if he couldn’t duck away from one of Peter’s pitches.

Wasn’t Laramy the dumb guy from Get Smart? Or wait, maybe that was Larrabee….

On the other hand, every hit batter is one fewer home run he gives up!
