mom: hooboy...not this old debate again.... heart, we don't have the space for a dog! not only that, everybody here is too busy...a dog would be alone for long stretches of time! heart: What about one of those tiny dogs you carry everywhere in a purse? we can tell school it's my anxiety dog! mom: ugh. discussion over.

What about a cat?

Getting a pet is a HUGE deal. Their maintenance ISN’T cheap.

Pets are also expensive – apartment fees, vet bills, food, toys, training sessions if it’s a dog. A dog would have to be walked every day and a cat would need its box cleaned. It’s a 10-15 year commitment.

Move in with Zack Hill. They take dogs.

Heart would need to prove herself responsible enough for a dog for any consideration in the first place. With her drama-queen personality, she would expect her mother to take care of the pet for her.

Fair arguments. How ‘bout a fish? They’re low maintenance and die for no reason whatsoever…
